Second Annual
Presidents' Day Scholarship Luncheon

2012 at the Stone Forge in Raynham
The Middleborough
Republican Town Committee (MRTC) is pleased to
announce that the four finalists for their 2nd
annual President's Day $5,000.00 Scholarship
Essay Contest are Lauren Mainini, Sarah King,
Connor Stearns, and Patrick Rogers.
All four finalist
have won 2 tickets each to MRTC President's Day
Scholarship Luncheon on Saturday, February 18 at
noon in the ballroom of the Stoneforge
restaurant.
The winning
essayist will present his or her essay on "Why
George Washington is still relevant today" at
the Luncheon before accepting the $5,000.00
United States Savings Bond.
Featured speakers
at the Luncheon will include Charlie Baker,
Mary Z. Connaughton, and Sean Bielat.
Miss New Bedford 2012 Marlena N. Johnson
will perform the National Anthem for the guests.

support this great scholarship event by getting
your tickets today and getting a few for friends
and neighbors, too! Tickets for the Luncheon are
$40.00 or two for $75.00

Second Annual
Presidents Day Scholarship
The Middleborough
Republican Town Committee (MRTC) will conduct
its second annual $5,000 Scholarship Essay
Contest, open to any secondary school student
who is a Middleboro resident.
"The MRTC is
proud to promote critical thinking and writing
skills in our high school students, and looks
forward to the opportunity to award a $5000
savings bond to another student this year," said
a spokesperson. "Last year the MRTC received
many wonderful essays and were able to present
essayist James Anderson with the scholarship."
The scholarship
is awarded directly to the student and can be
used for any purpose.
The topic for
this year's contest is "Why George Washington is
still relevant today." Essays must be between
300-400 words in length and need to be received
no later than Jan. 20, 2012. The winning
essayist will present his or her essay at the
Middleborough Republican Town Committee's second
annual President's Day Scholarship Luncheon on
Feb. 18, 2012.
